If we have learned anything from the last six months, it is that digital transformation is the key to long-term resiliency for any business. A static business is a dying business. When the pendulum swings in the economy, that’s when companies need to reimagine their business operations to unlock new streams of revenue and identify new lines of business. This is how we define business transformation, and companies need to change now to survive.
This [digital transformation] will be foundational to the success of every business moving forward. It is what our customers as well as our employees expect. That's what our world demands of us.
Satya Nadella
Microsoft is one of Blueprint’s largest partners. We have been a gold-certified partner for almost a decade, and Microsoft’s Inspire conference is the most important event of the year for its partner ecosystem. At this year’s event held last week, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella called digital transformation a necessary “tech intensity.” He was speaking about the responsibility of the tech community to help facilitate the digital transformation needed to build the resiliency of the economy.
The key to digital transformation is embracing change, and COVID-19 has made that more apparent than ever. The pandemic exposed companies that have been resistant to change, and those resisting the very real Amazon Effect are not proactively pursuing digital transformation. Yes, change is hard, and most people — and organizations are just made up of people — avoid change at all costs.
But there are trailblazers in the world who initiate the necessity for change and have been pushing the world to digitally transform for years. Satya Nadella and his leadership team at Microsoft are those individuals. They are instigating the change now and companies need to respond to the call to action or be left behind.
“As we navigate the response, recovery and reimagine phases, we all have a collective opportunity and […] a responsibility to define what comes next. We know it won’t be business as usual. We will need to develop an acute sense of what should be rebuilt, what should be reimagined and what should be left behind.” – Satya Nadella
This is a tough environment right now, and it is not improving any time soon. We believe unlocking value from organizations’ assets and leveraging cutting-edge technology can help organizations create additional revenue streams and new lines of business. This is what digital transformation should result in. We are the firm that helps companies achieve this from end-to-end, and we do it incredibly fast. We are always looking 2-3 years out for our clients as they decide to identify what Satya described as, “what should be rebuilt, what should be reimagined and what should be left behind.”
Microsoft’s partner community has unlimited potential to change the world. It embodies the potential to adapt, to connect, to innovate and to achieve more. As a Microsoft partner, we want to use our deep experience to develop cutting-edge technology solutions that change the world. We help organizations become agents of change by planning smarter, acting faster and growing their competitive advantage.
As Satya said, “the world is at an inflection point. It is time for us to get to the very core purpose of a modern corporation and what it means for the world going forward.”
“We believe that the purpose is to create a profitable solution to the challenges of people in every community in every country around the world,” he said. “This will be foundational to the success of every business moving forward. It is what our customers as well as our employees expect. That’s what our world demands of us.”
